Tim Runfola
Acting Chief Acquisition Executive

Tim Runfola currently serves as the Acting Chief Acquisition Executive (CAE) at CISA. Tim has been an integral part of NPPD/CISA since joining the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in 2010. From 2012 to 2016, he worked within the Office of Emergency Communications, now known as ECD, focusing on Priority Telecommunications Services and Next Generation Networks Priority Services, where he held the position of Deputy Program Manager. In 2016, Tim returned to OCIO, where he oversaw the execution of CISA’s Systems Engineering Lifecycle processes.
In 2019, Tim joined the Office of the Chief Acquisition Executive and was appointed Deputy CAE for Acquisition Governance in 2022. In this role, he led efforts for CISA to become the first Component in the Department to transition acquisition oversight to rapid acquisition processes. As Interim CAE, Tim oversees CISA’s portfolio of acquisition programs, the agency’s industry engagement program, and forthcoming Requirements Management Process.
Tim holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a concentration in Biotechnology from George Mason University and attended the Senior Executive Fellows program at the Harvard Kennedy School in 2015.
