NCSWIC PTE Committee releases Training and Exercises in the New Normal

Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (SWICs) and other emergency preparedness personnel may notice that typical operations are limited due to reduced state budgets and increased reliance on virtual alternatives. These budget cuts and virtual environments disproportionately impact communications-based training and exercise activities. Some SWICs are coping with the challenges well, and others need options to better support trainings and exercises.

NCSWIC Releases Strategic Plan & Implementation Guide for 2021

The National Council of Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (NCSWIC) is pleased to announce the release of its 2021 NCSWIC Strategic Plan and Implementation Guide. The plan is a critical mid-range (three-year) tool to help NCSWIC and its partners prioritize resources, strengthen governance, identify future investments, and address interoperability gaps.

CISA Releases Update to Funding Mechanisms Guide for Public Safety Communications

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), in partnership with SAFECOM and the National Council of Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (NCSWIC), published the Funding Mechanisms Guide for Public Safety Communications to assist public safety agencies in identifying funding sources for emergency communications projects.

NCSWIC Membership is comprised of the Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC) or an acting SWIC representative from each state or territory in the designated region. Each region has its own Regional Interoperability Council (RIC). The interstate RICs were developed to promote communication and collaboration among SWICs for the purpose of establishing interoperable communications solutions with neighboring states, regions, and counties.
