Brian Bonacci

Chief of Staff

Brian Bonacci

Brian Bonacci is the Chief of Staff for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). As CISA’s Chief of Staff, he leads and supports the agency’s overall strategy, planning, and allocation of resources, with a focus on driving strategic alignment and operational effectiveness in pursuit of the agency’s mission.

Prior to his appointment at CISA, Mr. Bonacci has been an active leader in the Federal Government information technology industry for over 30 years.  He served as the Founder and President of gScale Consulting, where he was instrumental in consulting federal agencies, such as DHS, on strategy, planning, and transformation initiatives. His ability to assist clients with developing growth strategies, pursuit plans, and metrics for success made a significant impact on the organization's success.

Prior to launching gScale Group, he served as Sr. Vice President for Growth & Strategy at RIVA Solutions and served as Asst. Vice President at SAIC for nine years. He has also held leadership roles at firms serving the public sector such as Equinix, ScienceLogic, Infinera, Level 3, and Qwest.  He started his career with the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) as a computer scientist and later worked at the U.S. Internal Revenue Service’s Systems Integration Office, developing strategies and architectures for their Tax Systems Modernization Program.

Bonacci has been actively involved in various professional associations throughout his career. He has served as an industry member of the Government Business Executive Forum (GBEF), an industry advisory board member of the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC), and a member of the board of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association (ITPA).

Bonacci holds a Master of Science degree in Business (Information Technology Management) from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University.
