HireVue Applicant Reasonable Accommodations Process
Federal agencies must provide reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants with disabilities, when appropriate, in accordance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended (ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA).
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Human Resources Division, operates the USA Hire Program and is piloting the use of HireVue in partnership with the United States Digital Services and certain federal agencies, including CISA. HireVue is an on-demand structured interview assessment tool to evaluate candidates who are applying to select vacancy announcements. The position announcement will specifically denote the use of HireVue. The instructions below only pertain to reasonable accommodation requests regarding HireVue-specific job announcements and applications. If you are seeking a reasonable accommodation for job announcements and applications that do not require the HireVue assessment, please reach out to the Point of Contact listed in the “Agency Contact Information” section of the job announcement.
Reasonable accommodations for (unproctored) HireVue Structured Interviews are modifications to the online interview and assessment process that may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities as provided for in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended. The purpose of an accommodation is to provide equal access to the interview process for applicants with disabilities. Applicants who request a reasonable accommodation will have their request reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Reasonable accommodation requests that are determined to be warranted and reasonable will be granted.

Alternatively, you may provide other qualified documentation sufficient to support your accommodation request as outlined below. Supporting documentation should come from a qualified professional citing the following:

- How will the accommodation help you complete the assessments?
Once the form(s) and documentation are complete, send all required documentation to CISAHiringReasonableAccommodation@cisa.dhs.gov.
Once notified of the reasonable accommodation decision, access and complete the HireVue Structured Interview as instructed in the decision correspondence within the deadline provided in your email invitation (a minimum of 72-hours).
