Katherine Crompton
Chief of Contracting Office (COCO)

Katherine Crompton currently serves as the Chief of Contracting Office (COCO) at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). As the COCO, Crompton supports CISA through management and oversight of contracting and procurement functions and works with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO), and Office of Procurement Operations (OPO), to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and higher-level policy requirements.
Prior to Crompton’s role as COCO, she served as the Senior Director of Innovation & Alternative Procurements at DHS. In this capacity, she served as the DHS Chief Acquisition Innovation Advocate and led the Procurement Innovation Lab, which fosters experimentation and the adoption of innovative acquisition techniques across DHS. She also spearheaded the Champions for Alternative Procurements to Secure the Homeland initiative, aimed at expanding knowledge and facilitating the appropriate use of alternative and non-Federal Acquisition Regulation authorities.
Prior to joining DHS, Crompton spent more than 25 years with the Department of Defense and the U.S. Army, where she held several leadership roles. She played a pivotal role in establishing contracting for the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer and Tradewinds, the first of its kind rapid procurement ecosystem. She has extensive experience in supporting procurements in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, information technology, and production.
