Infrastructure Security Careers
CISA leads the coordinated effort to reduce risks posted to our critical infrastructure, whether from natural causes or man-made. By working with government and private sector partners, CISA increases security through exercises, assessments and other resources. CISA’s infrastructure and security specialists work with businesses, communities, and government at every level to help make the nation’s critical infrastructure more resilient to cyber and physical threats.
Mission and program areas include chemical security and inspections, bombing prevention, critical infrastructure exercises, active shooter preparedness, securing public gatherings, school safety, federal facility security, infrastructure assessments and analysis, and strategy, performance and resources that enables mission planning.
Available jobs include chemical security inspectors, chemical engineers, chemists, business support coordinators, outreach coordinators, facility operations specialists, improvised explosive device (IED) program analysts, critical manufacturing program analysts, critical infrastructure specialists, training and exercise facilitators, and more.
Combating Domestic Violent Extremism, including mass shootings and bombing prevention.
Refreshing the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (The National Plan) and Implementing the 2021 NDAA Section 9002.
Increasing External Engagement by focusing on partnership and collaboration, information sharing, and transparency.
Strengthening our work to prevent chemical terrorism, to include securing permanent CFATS Authorization, expanding the voluntary chemical security program, and addressing IED precursors.
