Mainstreaming System Resilience Concepts into Transportation Agencies: A Guide

Intent: Provide transportation officials with a practical, self-assessment tool to gauge their agency's efforts to improve the resilience of their transportation systems.

Guide and a toolkit of supplemental materials present the state of the art and state of practice for understanding how to mainstream resilience concepts into agency decision-making and procedures. The Guide steps through a large number of self assessment steps and factors to rank an organizations maturity (10 Steps, 100 factors). These rankings provide an overall maturity score for each step. The Guide then provides recommendations to achieve high resilience capabilities.

Guide available for free with the creation of a guest account on the TRB website. Generally more of a self assessment instead of a Guide for a resilience assessment, but does provide an excellent overview of factors to consider if a group of stakeholders wants to work on generally improving their transportation system.
