The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) invites public and private sector members of the election infrastructure community to participate in CISA’s #PROTECT2024 webinar series.  This seven-week series will deep dive cyber, physical, and operational risks to election infrastructure, as well as provide specific recommendations on how to mitigate these risks and improve the resiliency of election infrastructure. 

Webinar topics will cover:

  • Week 1. Making Sense of Election Cyber Defense: Current Cyber Landscape & Available Cybersecurity Tools
  • Week 2. Preparing for Potential Acts of Violence: Active Shooter and Bomb Threat Preparedness
  • Week 3. Crisis Communications Planning: Emergency Communications Assets and “PACE” Planning
  • Week 4. Securing Your Network against Common Attacks: Phishing, Ransomware, and Distributed Denial of Service
  • Week 5. Securing Election Infrastructure against Physical Threats: Securing Local Election Offices and Election Mail Handling Procedures to Protect against Hazardous Materials 
  • Week 6. Ready for Anything: Tactics of Foreign Influence Operations and Incident Management Assistance and Communications
  • Week 7. Managing Risk on the Frontline: Conflict Prevention/Personnel Security Considerations and Reporting Suspicious Behaviors and Items

CISA will offer this seven-week series on three separate occasions between the end of April and the beginning of October with each series having a different start date and time to maximize potential participation.  So don’t worry if you miss one of the webinars, you will have two other chances over the coming months to catch it. The first seven-week series kicked off on Thursday, April 25.
