Description

The Michigan Cyber Civilian Corps (MiC3) is a group of volunteer civilian technical experts who offer rapid response assistance to the State of Michigan in the event of a critical cyber incident. MiC3 incident response capabilities are available after requests for assistance have been made to the Michigan Cyber Command Center (MC3).  

Services provided: Incident response services. 

Request Services and Volunteer

  • Criteria to Request Services:
    • For the MiC3 to be activated, a “client” organization must first make a request to the Michigan State Police Cyber Command Center, who will then relay the incident to the MiC3. 
  • Request Services:
    • Contact the Michigan State Police Cyber Command Center to request incident response support. 
    • Alternatively, you can email mc3@michigan.gov or call 877-642-9237. 
  • Criteria to Volunteer: 
    • Have at least two years of direct involvement with information security, preferably with security operations, incident response, or digital or network forensics. 
    • Possess a basic security certification. ANSI-certified/DOD 8570 compliant certifications, such as Security+, C|EH, CISSP, or GIAC certifications, are strongly preferred. 
    • Pass a series of tests to demonstrate basic knowledge of networking and security concepts, as well as basic IR and forensics skills. 
    • Commit up to 10 days per year for training and exercises. 
    • Provide evidence of employer support. 
    • Pass a background screening and sign a confidential disclosure agreement.
