3. TECHNICAL DETAILS

3.1 AFFECTED PRODUCTS

The following versions of Meridian utility software are affected:

  • Version 22.02
  • Version 22.03

3.2 VULNERABILITY OVERVIEW

3.2.1    IMPROPER ACCESS CONTROL CWE-284

Private user information such as name, address, and daily energy usage can be accessed online without proper authentication.

CVE-2022-29578 has been assigned to this vulnerability. A CVSS v3 base score of 7.5 has been assigned; the CVSS vector string is (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N).

4. MITIGATIONS

Active users have been updated to Version 22.04 or later by Meridian Cooperative and are no longer affected by this vulnerability. Contact Meridian Cooperative (login required) for additional information.

CISA recommends users take defensive measures to minimize the risk of exploitation of this vulnerability. 

CISA reminds organizations to perform proper impact analysis and risk assessment prior to deploying defensive measures.
