
Barrett Adams-Simmons serves as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Region 10 Deputy Regional Director (DRD). She has worked for the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense for over twenty-years as a senior advisor in critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and counterterrorism. As the DRD, she leads a team dedicated to infrastructure resilience and partnership engagement and collaboration among state and private partners.
Prior to her work in the Pacific Northwest, she served as a Senior Policy Advisor with DHS for cyber, infrastructure resilience, and counterterrorism policy. She worked with teams across the interagency and international and private sector partners to address Advanced Persistent Threats and identify best practices against known threats.
Before joining DHS, she specialized in risk management for the Department of Defense (DOD). Projects included multiple energy surety programs with the DOD’s most critical assets within the United States.
Ms. Adams-Simmons served as a Surface Warfare Officer and deployed to support conflicts from 1999 to 2003 before transitioning to the Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon where she eventually supported the development of the Defense Critical Infrastructure Program.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy in Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering (NAOME) and a Master of Arts from the Catholic University of America in International Policy.
