WASHINGTON – The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) will be hosting the final Chemical Security Seminar of 2021 on December 15, featuring panel discussions on supply chain disruptions, emergency management collaboration, and a workshop to assist chemical industry members in designing their own chemical security exercises.

The 2021 Chemical Security Seminars are a signature U.S. event for chemical security.  They’re an opportunity for government and industry partners to collaborate and discuss ways to mitigate the various risks that facilities with dangerous chemicals face every day. CISA is hosting a series of three chemical seminars this year. The theme for the third and final seminar is ‘Chemical Security Planning and Preparedness.’

It features sessions from both industry and government experts, including:

  • A Case Study on Recent Disruptions in the Supply of Chlorine: Impact and Response
  • Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Personnel Surety Program Overview and Demonstration
  • P4 – A Platform for Public/Private Emergency Management Collaboration Overview
  • Probabilistic Analysis for National Threats, Hazards, and Risks (PANTHR) Overview
  • How To Design a Chemical Security Exercise

The first two weeks of the seminars—held virtually on December 1 and 8—had nearly 1,000 attendees from around the world, including chemical security leaders in industry and the federal government, as well as state and local officials.

Registration for the 2021 Chemical Security Seminars is still open. Follow #ChemicalSecurity on Twitter: @CISAgov and @CISAInfraSec. Visit the 2021 Chemical Security Seminars webpage for more information and the full agenda.
