The Infrastructure Information Collection Division (IICD), within the National Protection and Programs Directorate's Office of Infrastructure Protection, leads the Department’s efforts to gather and manage vital information regarding the nation’s critical infrastructure. Accurate critical infrastructure data is essential to developing and executing infrastructure protection programs at all levels of government. IICD helps ensure that the necessary infrastructure data is available to homeland security partners by identifying information sources and developing applications to use and analyze the data. The Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII) Program protects the critical infrastructure information voluntarily shared with the government and established uniform procedures on the receipt, validation, handling, storage, marking, and use of that critical infrastructure information.
