PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Office for Bombing Prevention Empowered Trainer Program empowers federal, state, local, tribal, territorial (FSLTT) and private sector trainers with the ability to deliver CISA Office for Bombing Prevention awareness level bombing prevention training. The program is designed to build the counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) training capabilities of FSLTT and private sector stakeholders by providing trainers with the essential knowledge, tools and training support necessary to effectively deliver C-IED and risk mitigation training in their communities and organizations using a learning management system and accredited curriculum.
Become an Authorized Trainer
Experienced trainers have the opportunity to attend a CISA Office for Bombing Prevention Train the Trainer (TtT) course. This course is provided at no cost to participants and their organizations. It focuses on developing facilitation skills for managing and delivering C-IED training courses within their communities and organizations.
Participants who successfully complete the three-day Bombing Prevention for Empowered Trainers TtT course are authorized to teach the following courses
The CISA Office for Bombing Prevention

Provides access to accredited training curriculum and a learning management system to authorized trainers to administer and deliver C-IED training. |

Works with the authorized trainer to administratively manage course scheduling, application approval, course deliverables, track course completion and certificates and provide reach back support. |
|
Equips the authorized trainer with the tools and knowledge to manage and sustain a viable C-IED and risk mitigation training program in their communities and organizations. |
|
Deploys CISA Office for Bombing Prevention instructional staff who are subject matter experts to provide proven instructional techniques and best practices to effectively deliver C-IED and risk mitigation training. |
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) SAFETY Act Block Designated
The DHS Office of SAFETY Implementation have approved a Block Designation for those participating in the CISA Office for Bombing Prevention TtT Program. Participants approved to provide CISA Office for Bombing Prevention TtT Program may apply for SAFETY Act protections using the Block Designation Form.
Accredited Training
The CISA Office for Bombing Prevention is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to award continuing education units for its courses.
Select courses are nationally certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) for in-service Peace Officer Standards and Training certification.
