Who We Are

CISA Region 6

Region 6 serves the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, spanning almost 546,498 square miles across 503 counties and parishes and 68 tribal and Pueblo nations. It has three major metropolitan areas, each with more than two million people, eight cities exceeding 300,000 in population, and a total regional population of more than 38.4 million.

Region 6 is a geographically, culturally, and economically diverse region and prone to a wide variety of natural, technological and human induced threats. The region’s terrain includes mountains and deserts in New Mexico, forests in Oklahoma and Arkansas, rivers across the region flowing to the Gulf coast of Texas and through the bayous of Louisiana. The region experiences a wide range of natural risks from tornadoes, ice storms, and flooding, to droughts, earthquakes, hurricanes and wildfires. Region 6 also faces several technological and human induced hazards to critical infrastructure as it contains multiple nuclear facilities, major hazardous material routes, major entertainment venues, and major airports.

Regardless of the nature or cause of an incident, Region 6 is ready to help partners build resilience and readiness to mitigate risk, and to provide response support in the event of an incident.

Region 6 Director Harvey Perriott

Regional Director Harvey Perriott leads a cadre of security professionals located throughout the region who manage mission execution through steady state and incident response support operations.
